I let out a long breath, closing my eyes for a moment as the Dragon finally fell back asleep within my chest. Roxy’s green eyes found me in the dark, the way they’d widened slightly as my fingers gripped her neck. The flicker of her pulse against my thumb, which gave away exactly what she thought of me in that moment. She thought I might kill her. She’d believed it.
