“That’s just the part of my brain which is blinded by his hotness. I refuse to listen to her because she’s a slut. The sensible part of my brain says hell no and I’ll be keeping company with her and her chastity belt from now on.”
YOU ARE ALL BOTTOM-FEEDING LOSERS.
“This is Hell Week,” he snapped, and everyone flinched from his ferocious tone. “And you’re all fucking useless.”
“That our Cardinal Magic teacher is a psycho?”
His jaw ticked in a deadly way and my heart thumped out of rhythm. “I prefer the term unbalanced and frankly it's the least of your problems.”
Don't take any shit lying down. No one's judging you if you lose, but if you don't even try to win, you're not one of us. And if you can't hack it, get out of my class.”
“Maybe I’ve already got plans Wednesday,” I said. “Yeah, you do. With me.”
I'm feeling a hell of a lot of fire in my body right now but none of it is Dragon Fire.
“I was afraid.” “Good. Afraid we can do,” he said, then a scream ripped from my lungs as I was launched a hundred feet into the air.
“What if I’m having second thoughts?” he growled. “You’re fickle,” I pointed out. “And confusing.”
My Atlas pinged and I took it out of my bag, my soul fraying as I found a private message waiting for me from Orion. Lance: What if I don't want it to stop?
“There are no Dragon Professors at the Academy,” Darius said. “So I run these sessions as I’m the biggest and most powerful Dragon here.” “Could you try to take your head out of your ass the next time you say that?”
I guess you’re about to go back to radio silence so for what it’s worth… In Solaria blue means royal. And to me, blue means you.
“You wanna lose two hundred and fifty House Points for disrespecting a teacher while breaking curfew?” he asked. “You wanna tell me if that’s a dagger in your pocket or if you’re just excited to see me?” I taunted.
Her gaze locked with mine and for a moment it was like none of the shit that had passed between us had ever happened and we were just us, alone...in my bed.
Perhaps Darius was five percent not an asshole. Still ninety five percent a dickwad who’d tried to murder me though,
“The reason I look like shit is purely self-inflicted.”
Max’s face turned a violent shade of purple and a wave of anger slammed through The Orb from him a second before he launched the horn vibrator across the room. It hit the metal wall with a dull thunk then fell to the ground where it promptly started vibrating and bouncing all over the place.
“He’s touchy about Orion ever since he broke that trinket box,” she explained.
“You’d better make sure you learn that spell Orion taught us before you go near Caleb again. I’m not babysitting a kid that bites.”
Seeing another guy's hands on you makes me want to rip out their eyes so they never get to look at you again.
The forceful magnet in my chest finally reunited with its other half and sent a rocket of pure pleasure down my spine. I need him this close. I can't get enough of it.
“What the hell?” I demanded while Darius smirked at me. “You said you weren’t backing out.”
“If you’re a Dragon maybe you can marry Darius and save him from Mildred,” Xavier suggested casually. I half choked on my coke and set it down quickly while I coughed. “Fuck no,” I said once I could speak. “Mildred is welcome to him. I want a front row seat to their wedding so that I can laugh my ass off but that’s the only reason I’ll be attending.”
“So, what are we going to do while we wait for Darius to go braid his hair?” I asked. “Err, I dunno, do you wanna come play Xbox in my room?”
Xavier’s eyes lit with mischief for a moment but then the dare faded out of them, and he shook his head. “It’s a dumb idea.” “Oh come on Rapunzel, let down your hair,”
Darius caught my hand and pulled me upright, before throwing his arm around my shoulders as he held his Atlas in front of us and took a picture while pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
“You’re an asshole,” I said half-heartedly as I ducked out from under his arm. “At least I’m consistent,” he replied
He was good. I’d give him that. But I was better.
Darius: But maybe we could call it a draw?
“-would fucking break me. So don’t you dare give in to them. I’ll follow you into the shadows if I have to and drag you away from them kicking and screaming. Because they can’t have you. They fucking can’t.”
I just have to say the words and this pain will stop. But if I do, I’ll never forgive myself.
events. But I didn’t care. We’d completed our third trial and discovered how strong we really were in the process.
He was one of the strangest people I’d ever read. Whenever I got near him it was like he was void of emotion. A blank canvas. Either he kept himself in complete control or he was some kind of path. Sociopath, psychopath…both. I certainly didn’t envy Darius his life with him whatever he was.
Oh hula beluga!
“I’m trying to get Diego Polaris’s saliva off of my girl,” he growled.
A deep growl emanated from his throat as he found his way barred by my pantyhose. He ripped a hole in them between my thighs and I sucked in a breath of surprise.
He tore my pantyhose in half, and I gasped as he peeled them off my legs.
“I just want someone to make my heart beat faster,” she said in a low voice that had me drawing closer to her as I looked into her dark eyes. “To challenge me and make me laugh and push back against my bullshit. I want to be forced out of my comfort zone and I want to feel excited, exhilarated, afraid. But not just because you’re an asshole. Because I want to feel alive.”
“I’ll do whatever makes you happy,” I replied, throwing my arm over her shoulders as I led her towards the next ride. And the strangest thing was, I was pretty sure that was the truth.
“And if she tells me to fuck off?” I demanded. “Then you get to taste the bitter sting of rejection for the first time in your life,” he teased. “It’ll be good for you.”
