I snorted a laugh and Darcy blew out a breath as she picked the card up. “I keep forgetting we’re actually princesses,” she said, shaking her head.
“Here comes the panty thief now,” she said in an undertone as Caleb appeared on the path ahead. “I shouldn’t have told you,” I muttered, rolling my eyes and she snorted a laugh.
Lance: Fine. Seeing another guy's hands on you makes me want to rip out their eyes so they never get to look at you again.
Lance: Hang on, why am I not allowed? Is it green or blue? Or am I way off base? Please tell me you haven't got a mohawk like Max Rigel. Although, I'd probably still want you just as much. I certainly did when that fuckwit Capella took your hair.
“If we do this, we can't undo it.”
“I want you to the point of pain, Blue.”
“Then have me,” I commanded.
I've not even been here a term and I just fucked a teacher.
“What I’d like for a prize probably isn’t on the table,” he replied with a shrug.
“Okay, there’s no you and Darius,” he agreed quickly. “But you might be doomed if that’s not what you want because I saw the way he was looking at you and Darius always gets what he wants once he sets his mind to it.”
He was so different from his brother it was untrue. Even though I hardly knew him, hanging out with him was like hanging out with an old friend.
“Well shit,” I breathed. “No wonder I like you so much. You skipped the asshole Dragon genes!”
“I think my mortal is showing because I really just wanna tickle your horsey ears right now,” I teased, drawing closer to him.
“You should know,” Darius replied, his eyes still on me as I stared at the flames. “I don’t have air or earth magic.” I looked back at him in surprise. “I saved us?” I asked, needing confirmation because I sure as hell hadn’t been thinking clearly enough to be able to do it on purpose. “You did,” he confirmed.
“I have a perfectly good bed downstairs,” I replied, shaking my head just a little. “Why would you want me to stay?”
“Because it feels right,” he breathed.
I released her and she was gone, darting into the darkness, and making my soul feel like it was being ripped in two. I loved Darius, but by the stars, did he have to come to me tonight of all nights?
“Xavier is pure blooded,” Lionel growled, and my heart turned to stone. “Despite his recent emergence, I can guarantee his Order is due to whichever constellations he was linked to at birth. It has nothing to do with my blood or Catalina’s for that matter.”
“He’s going to use my brother,” Darius breathed, horror sprawling across his features. “No,” I growled, a promise in my voice. “We will do everything in our power to stop him. I swear on the stars, Darius, we won’t let Lionel hurt Xavier like he hurt my sister.”
“You burned my clothes off of my body on my first day here. You encouraged every asshole in this school to make my life hell. You tortured and tormented me every second you got the chance, and you laughed while you did it. You took my deepest fear and dragged me to that pool so that you could force me to relive it and you almost fucking killed me,” I hissed, all the venom of all the hatred I’d ever felt for him pouring out of me like it was an open wound. “So yes. I gasped as he ran at me, my heart sinking, knowing that this alcohol meant so much to him. He grabbed hold of my hand and prised the bottle from my fingers, dropping it himself. The smash hit my ears, but I didn’t see it because he dragged me against him, his mouth crashing into mine with the heat of a furnace.
I didn’t like to admit it, but I was starting to accept that Seth had feelings for me. And for some reason that terrified me far more than him hating me ever could.
“Gladly,” he snapped. But instead of releasing me, he shoved me hard and I fell back onto my ass in the mud. Pain ricocheted through my hips and tears stung the backs of my eyes as something in my chest twisted sharply.
“She was just getting used to the feeling of being where she belongs. Beneath our feet,” Darius growled.
“Weak,” Caleb snapped back,
“Any asshole can push a girl in the mud, it’s got nothing to do with your power or hers,” Caleb snarled. “And it’s a petty fucking thing to do to her.”
“Caleb’s crying because I pushed his little whore about,” Darius taunted and for some reason those words stung more than him shoving me had.
“Or maybe the two of you just want a dick measuring contest but you can’t find a microscope to judge it,” I snapped.
“Just when I think I’ve got you figured out, you do this to me, and I could just about lose my mind over it.”
He fucked me hard like I needed, the force of his Vampire strength a potent aphrodisiac which had me moaning and crying out as I took and took from him, his cock driving deep inside me with every punishing thrust.
The headboard was slamming into the wall and my nails were gouging lines into the wooden post which was the only thing stopping me from toppling over beneath the strength of his desire. We’d survived. And more than that, our Orders had emerged. And we weren’t Dragons at all. For a moment I was at a loss as to what we were, but the knowledge came to me like it had been there all along.
