I’m helpless. I’m worthless. I’m unlovable. There in bed, 3 a.m. attack after 3 a.m. attack, I’d somehow fallen prey to believing all three.

This awfulness you’ve been experiencing…this isn’t who you are.”

What we think about, our brains become.

To put it plainly: all hell is against us meeting with Jesus.

Beauty interrupts us, it awakens us, it undoes us, it cuts us open, and restarts our hearts. Beauty is God’s evidence of something far more wonderful coming, a world beyond the one we can imagine, even in the most spectacular moments here. A God better than what we hope for. A God who blows our minds.

Goodness is meant not to merely make us feel good but to point us to God.
