I’ve been terrified…of a monster everyone else mocks as weak.
She said to take the apple products off the shelf. She told me not to grow the apples. She said it’d be used against me.
I’ve seen her overestimate herself more times than I can count.
My smile slips when I realize how terrifying and humbling that all must have been for her.
I think their monsters loved me before they did.
“Do you guys sit around comparing notes on the things she’s told you or something?”
I’m glad you were stupid. That’s right. I said it,”
“Did he fall asleep after he rubbed one out without even bothering to tuck that tragic thing away?”
What does the monstar quad want with a wicked witch they’ve not crossed paths with for so many centuries?
My hand moves down my beard, as I really consider that. Is she that thoughtful in planning? No. Not possible. Not Violet.
You’ve been on top for too long if you’re overlooking it so easily.
“I’m putting in my notice anyway. You’re too much fucking trouble,” Shera informs her.
I don’t know how it happens. I don’t know where she comes from. Just as Arion and Damien are about to collide with Idun, Violet is suddenly there. Idun crashes into her, and I jerk in my seat, feeling sympathy pain for Violet— My own eyes widen when Idun’s body folds in on itself, as though it has just slammed into a brick wall.
Marta set her up for failure by never teaching her the way of our world, and for making her think her monster was something far fiercer than it is in reality.”
“I knew it was too good to be true. She couldn’t separate personal from business, and got caught up in her instinct once Vance was threatened.
“We were fools, weren’t we?” he asks.
“Of course we were. She was the first thing to give us all hope for something both better and different in ages, and…”
It doesn’t make sense for Violet to taunt Idun. Even on a power trip, her dominance is so fierce that it’s taking all my control to keep my wolf leashed. You three have been arguing almost nonstop, unable to think clearly or finish full thought processes.”
“It was storming like this the night her head came off too,” she carries on.
If you see Anna, salt her. It’s not a ghost. It’s some sort of mystical spirit that haunts the mind and drives it mad. Usually it can’t be seen, which is why I didn’t realize it sooner. It’s always been trapped inside the mind, but it’s found a way to somehow show itself, using the ghost plane.
“I have more sway over my daughter than it does, or at least I did. Therefore, I’m the one person it’s jealous of,”
It’s certainly not that puny thing you watched, mocked, and judged in the woods rather recently. That’s simply the monster she was born with.”
