That’s what life is, dealing with one problem and then the next. It’s striving and suffering to obtain a goal, only to find another one waiting beyond it. I thought life was misery because of the unending succession of trials and tribulations. But now, I see that challenges are what life is all about. Take them away and . . . there’s no point. It’s like life is a game, but now the competition is over. We’re still here, waiting and hearing about others who can still play. It’s not terrible, but neither is it enjoyable.”
People always provided justifications for their actions and found their behavior acceptable, even if they hated others for doing the same things.
