Their version of Rick was the opening chapter or two of a very bleak biography. A history of the Beatles that ends in Hamburg. There’s more to the story, family friends. And as all these stories of Rick piled up, I became increasingly frustrated and felt the anger duct open. They were leaving out the parts where Rick fills his body with drugs and where he fills his head with a bullet. They didn’t have stories about the Rick who had a shotgun in his bedroom.
