Remediation—that is, growing whatever has been missing in our identity so that we display the character of Christ—requires much practice.
Transgressions are corrected through vision, which clarifies what we should and should not do. Means that develop the fast-track mind (attachment, mutual mind, and group identity) will correct iniquities of character. A multitude of sins are covered by our impetus toward attachment love (hesed).[2]
God gives us life, allows no one in His place, sees us as special (grace), builds our joy, lets us rest, thinks with us, draws close and moves away, shares good and bad times with us, helps us discover our true selves, gives us freedom but stays hesed, stretches us to grow, and makes us part of God’s people.
Healthy spiritual maturity requires guidance from God in real time. Without input from God, we might reach normal human maturity but will not be transformed.
Our identity and actions derive from ongoing, mutual mind with God in real time. Our character has its iniquities healed and corrected by extensive relational practice with our hesed people. We avoid striving and being “too big” through disciplines of indirection.
We become a new people who are being saved here on earth by the active presence of God. The example of our Older Brother lives in our hearts by His Spirit.
Now, when an area of immaturity is exposed, I call on the Lord for help and strength while practicing relational skills.
Ohhh my! How the concept of having a mutual mind not only with Christian brothers and sisters but also with God has been life transforming! Jesus, Father, and Spirit want to and are capable of bringing communication into my mind of what God Himself is thinking and feeling. Thinking with God is incredibly freeing and challenging at the same time. I can have the mind of Christ. This frees me from concern about making the “right” decision on my own.
