I tend to tell new people I meet—especially those I am interested in—very intimate things very quickly, usually to hook them. I’ve had a dramatic and interesting life, and quick confessions are fairly unusual—and people tend to mistake this kind of forward dramatic openness for honesty, which I often reinforce by telling them I can’t keep a secret to save my life, and/or that I’m a terrible liar.
Overwhelmed, I was uncertain, not grasping the truest origin of our disintegration.
