I asked him once why he wanted to see the sun rise every morning, what it was that caused him to be out here at the crack of dawn every day. He watched me for a moment before looking back at the horizon. “Its beauty,” he said. “It reminds me every day that there is beauty in the world. That even though it may feel like we are alone sometimes, we are never truly alone.”
How would it feel to live a full life and have no one remember it, to have no one remember the extraordinary things you accomplished,
memories are like ghosts, and they will drown you if you let them.
“There is no one such as you in this world, and you belong to me. I’ll believe in you, always.”
What a person does for the greater good defines who they are. A man should never be measured by how full his life is, but what he is willing to give up in order to protect those he loves. He must do so without regard for his own self. That is a measure of a man.
