When my parents gave me my first cell phone, I wish someone had mentioned the brilliant mind of Sophie Wilson, a trans engineer who designed the Acorn RISC Machine in 1983, one of the most successful IP cores ever, now found in almost every smartphone made in the twenty-first century.
All queer people are created equal, but the world does not treat us that way. Certain identities, queer or not, come with certain privileges. People of color, the trans community, the gender non-conforming community, and disabled people (or any combination of these) face challenges that their white, cisgender, and traditionally abled counterparts do not.
