We think that if we can just discover who we are in Christ, we’ll finally change. But the more we know ourselves, the more failure we see. God-defined beauty and our purpose in God’s kingdom are not to be ignored. Personality tests like the Enneagram and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can help us learn how to better communicate and address our weaknesses. But reading more about ourselves won’t show us how to go deeper with God, because we’re not focusing on the one who matters. We’re still focusing on ourselves.
