Think about it. Do you voluntarily do your day job on the weekends, for free, out of passion? Do most accountants do hobby accounting on the weekends? Maybe there are some who do, but probably not many. Do dentists play with some creative dentistry ideas on the side? (God I hope not!) For developers, code is more than a job—it’s a creative outlet. When developers can’t express that creativity at work, they find other areas to do it. Many have outside projects and even startups on the side.
