I learned that too many authors do the following: publish a book without an author brand dismiss their local communities create appalling websites turn up their noses to social media send the same ole boring emails avoid learning how to find book ambassadors quit too soon at marketing act too salesy rather than authentically forgo an awesome book launch compare their tribes to other authors’ tribes

Even if you have the master marketer Seth Godin himself launch your book, it won’t matter if your book stinks like rotten eggs. You must have something that’s actually marketable — something desirable, something worthy of being read — at least if you’re going to drive down Marketing Freeway, that is.

Low-key...yes. This has happened with me so many times - where I "get to know" the author and then BOOM. I have this crippling desire to read anything and everything they've ever written. Shayla is preaching and I'm in the first pew.
