The mist is exploded human. HOW UNSANITARY!
“Of course you’re not all right; they didn’t leave you with so much as a sanitation wipe dispenser, you poor thing.”
Humans have very strange feet, and hers are shown off in all their oddness by something she calls a sandal.
when she doesn’t immediately scamper out of the creature’s possible attack radius, I catch her arm and haul her behind me—why I do this, I cannot explain. If a person has no sense of danger, is it really my responsibility to act as their shield and bear the attack meant for them? Heavens NO. This has been my rationale my entire life, and it’s served me fine. So what am I doing?
I feel the remnants of her touch like a phantom warmth for a long, long time after.
“BAD HUMAN! BAD!”
Aurora’s idea of cajoling has suddenly begun to involve her lips tapped to mine. Aurora’s idea of cajoling is abstrusely effective.
“If we’re lost out here for much longer, and our situation becomes the direst of circumstances, you have my permission to eat me after I perish.” “Shut up, Simmi,” Aurora says on a laugh. “But only after I perish,” I stress. “Simmi!” She’s cackling into her hand.
“If my translation device is right, and referring to me as princess means you think I’m a self-important, temperamental person with superior tastes and a peculiar difficulty to be pleased; then you’re correct, and I take no offense.”
Against all reason: I like Aurora. She is not orderly. She is anything but quiet. She’s technically an antithesis to everything I prefer.
I’m wearing mate marks. To put it plainly, they signify that Aurora is mine. I’ve as good as staked my claim that I’ll protect her. And there’s no supposing about it: I’ve successfully proven just this.
“It’s Simurrdhr, but he’d rather everybody just called him Murrdhr.”
“You are a vision, already risen and shining and beautiful,”
“Do you want me? Do you want to have sex with me?” “If I didn’t,” I tell her, my hands coming to her hips, “I would have run screaming from the room when an alien rolled on top of me.”
What! ‘Okay,’ what? Why did the sight of her gazing up at me get my blind agreement to whatever she wants me for?
