Even If It Hurts

And as I watched his face, it was like seeing a ghost. Someone my heart had said good-bye to six years ago. Someone I never intended on seeing again.

“Sometimes, you have to leave for a while to remember why you fell in love in the first place.”

Even if it hurts. Even if it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do, you have to stop.”

And in this moment, I knew I was looking at the man I never stopped loving.

But really, what I was deep down inside was a woman completely in love with two men.

Because no one in this world needed to hear that I had been in love two times in my life and both were with the same woman.

She’d once told me she hoped the hurt would finally go away. After watching her leave me twice, I didn’t think it would. And, damn it, sweet girl, it never did.
