I’d been ogled since thirteen when my natural Ds sprouted overnight.
I am so invested in these hot girls that are always portrayed in romance novels as the slutty bitches that cause drama. They are there to give the reader satisfaction of knocking them down. Slut-shaming and drama creating.
Used up by the main leads and thrown away.
These girls, do they not deserve true love and happy ever after? I am craving stories about them.
“Listen, girls like that don’t have a lot going on upstairs. A couple of four-dollar words and she’ll do anything you ask. If you catch my drift.” He winked at me. “A girl like her?” I fought to keep my face neutral. “You know, fine as hell but dumber than a box of rocks.” “How do you discern that just by looking at her?” He gave me a patronizing look. “She isn’t dancing here tonight because she likes the workout. Some girls play to their strengths.”
“Yeah, I like this. You get that girl there, the one you been drooling over, to convince me that I was wrong about her.” “What do you mean? How?” “I don’t know, you’re the genius.” He lightly punched my shoulder. “Find a way to show that she’s where she is based on prejudice or whatever bull you were spitting and I’ll fund your research.”
“You know saying similar sounding words as a replacement defeats the point. All words are subjective to the culture, so it doesn't really change the meaning. Best to leave it out altogether, at least in the company of people. When you are alone you can cluck until the chickens come home.”
“The Scorned Women’s Society. ‘No ex left behind.’ And usually we don’t talk about Jethro at all, we hang out or try something new like Wine and Paint or talk about a book we’ve read.”
This really makes sense. Especially considering some of his exes got into drugs and never left the wraiths. He was a huge dick.
“If you haven’t figured out already, I’m not great with words.” She released her lip and smiled. “You don’t say.” “I think you look very…sufficient.” “You can do better than that, Ford.” She frowned. I squeezed my fists and on a whoosh of breath said, “You take my breath away every time I look at you.” I gently shut the door and jogged around to the driver’s side.
“I just thought he was my person, you know? Even if the rest of the world thought I was trash at least I had my man.” Her chin wobbled and my control was barely tethered. “But I was wrong. I was so wrong. He never thought of me as anything at all. Despite what everybody has told me my whole life…” She hiccupped. “I never felt stupid until the day I realized I was nothing to him.”
I was so lost in thought I’d missed that everybody had come down. Everyone except Suzie, who stood at the top of the stairs. The room went silent. That woman could make an entrance. I couldn’t breathe. She was a vision in winter white, fresh like the fallen snow. I’d never seen anybody look so beautiful. It was truly hard to look at. Her beauty burned too bright. Her long elegant neck was stacked with pearl strands and her midnight hair was twisted up elegantly off her neck. Intricate lace covered her neck and shoulders. The dress then transitioned into a hectic combination of lace and pearls
