STEP 1 IS SET THE SCENE. Bring to mind the scene or image where you will do the forgiveness exercise. For example, when I was forgiving myself for a bad business decision that cost me millions, I imagined seeing a younger version of myself facing me in my office from 2005. STEP 2 IS FEEL THE ANGER AND PAIN. For no more than two minutes (it’s okay to estimate), allow yourself to feel the pain and anger. It’s even okay to yell or pound a pillow.
