A major sign we are choosing commitment over mood and living a Jesus-over-everything life in this area will be our visible spiritual transformation. It is as Bible teacher and author Beth Moore recently said: “The objective of all obedience to God is Christlikeness. God is conforming us into the image of His Son. If in our pursuit and practice of obedience, we look, act, talk and love less and less and less like Jesus, something has gone awry.”5 We can preach Jesus and live the opposite, but everyone will write us off.
