Then again, that was the sixties. A time when apparently everyone got it on with each other and never stopped to consider labeling it. I sort of wished the same could be done now. People today loved their labels. They claimed to be so accepting of everyone and their own individual preferences, but they secretly loved to put people in a box. It was like filling out a questionnaire. Sexual orientation: Straight, gay, bisexual, etc. All of those new, fancy words they were always making up to describe themselves and one another. But what if you didn’t want to associate or identify as one of those words? What if you just wanted to love who you loved? From one adult human to another? I had fallen in love with a woman. And then I fell in love with a man. But I didn’t identify as anything other than me. Benjamin Michael Lockwood. Wasn’t that enough?
