⤬⤬⤬⤬ What is consciousness? How do you perceive that you are alive? Or are you not? When the things around you don't move, the space around you remains stagnant for days, for months, for years. How does it feel when, for months, you have only breathed in oxygen built by machines? Machines that aren't bored. Machines that don’t worry about where they exist in the moment of space and time. Machines that don't know whether they exist or not. But I know. I know that I exist. In the vast existence of nothingness, I break the routine. I know the time is slipping by, I know that it is moving slowly from my point of reference, but it's definitely moving at its natural pace. How do I know this? Because the stars are not stagnant. The sky is constantly moving. It's showing me that the universe isn't stopping by to take a sympathetic dig at me. It's unaware. It's incognizant. It does not care.

Once done, they return to their rocket and it takes off. I see it trailing off in the sky, going maybe further towards Mars, or probably going back to the Earth. And I remain here. Embracing the silence. Embracing the vacuum. Embracing the dark side of the moon.

4/5 *clap *clap Yes, the Dark side of the moon takes the cake. It wasn't a serious science fiction or even dwelve too much into solidarity -which I would have liked btw. But <*spoilers> the twist, being stuck on moon for eternity as a ghost, wow!
