By contrast the percentage of males killed in violent conflict in the US and Europe in the twentieth century is a single-digit blip.35 If there is evidence that past societies would have been infinitely more tolerant of sexual and biological differences than we are in the twenty-first-century West, then it is incumbent on those making these claims to provide it.
