Don’t reply, for now. I’d wait until I came up with the perfect response. If experience was anything to go by, the perfect response was never the first one that came to mind.

“If friendship is all he’s able to give you right now, don’t knock it because you were hoping for more. Maybe, if you’re lucky, he’ll be ready for something else one day. If not, at worst you’ll have yourself a good friend in a new school.”

Well, actually, that was kind of a good question. The problem with not labeling something was that what you could and couldn’t expect was kind of gray.
