Few people there fit the stereotypical image of “white privilege.” When we have a discussion of race in America, these communities should not be forgotten. We ask them to pay their taxes and fight our wars. We must not also ask them to pay for illegal immigrants’ health care and education, or to pay reparations for injustices that their ancestors of eight generations ago might or might not have perpetrated.
