Even in the midst of all the pain and suffering, there was dignity. The women wanted their children to be educated. They wanted to be productive and self-sufficient. Above all, they wanted to go home. Europe was in crisis over the influx of refugees. The Trump administration was engulfed in controversy over whether and how to admit refugees to the United States. But what these women wanted most for their families was not to be refugees; they most wanted to be able to go home and live normal lives.
