“So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
“Love can last forever if you’re with the right person,”
My error was to fall in love. As if my dad could hear my thoughts, he says, “Loving someone is never a mistake.”
Masculine nose, sensual mouth, strong, chiseled jaw with a pair of high cheekbones framing those warm brown eyes that keep staring at me when he thinks nobody is watching.
do what you love, but also what you are good at,”
“You have a dream. It gets destroyed by adulthood. You get used to disappointment. Reality settles and you move on. End of story.”
“Let me take care of you for a change,” he offers and extends his hand. “For once, let someone else worry about the weight of the world. Take a leap of faith and begin by believing that you can change the way you live your life.”
But then what’s there when my family can’t depend on me?
“Love isn’t about the big, swooping gestures,” Jason says. “It’s about waking up just a little bit earlier to get coffee while they watch the news together. It’s about trading off on the chores and responsibilities they hate and rewarding each other with smiles. It’s about the conversations, compromises, and adventures that make their lives worth living.
Love is about finding someone who wants to go on that crazy journey of life together so you can support each other every step of the way. And once you’ve found who you want to go on that journey with, it seems wrong to waste another moment apart.”
had no idea he had something like this in him. I’m blown away. My head exploded, and so did my ovaries.
“Sometimes, being around your family is a full-time job.”
“Tattoos are like marriages,” the guy says. I swallow, wondering what he means by that. I have a couple of tattoos on my back but none of them are related to Greta or what I feel for weddings and the fucking institution of marriage.
“How can those two relate?” Eileen asks curiously. “They are meant to be forever. So, when you think you’re ready for either one, you have to stop yourself and think about them thoroughly. Think about what you want, where you want it, and if you’ll be able to live with it for the rest of your life. If you can’t answer any of those questions, then stay away from the needle—or the commitment.”
Why does she have to be so considerate and caring? Why does everything she does have to be delightfully odd? Why does she have to be so fucking smart and funny and perfect— It hits me like a ton of bricks. Fuck. She’s perfect. Eileen McBean is my fucking dream girl.
You’re the only person who can make you happy.”
“We’re in a bar, literally drinking our troubles away because your sister is so selfish, she had to steal your birthday,”
A man like him should be cherished and loved by someone who can see his value.
It’s one soul calling out to another through an infinite abyss. It’s something like love.
“You’re fucking beautiful.” And when he says it, I want to believe it. No, I do believe it. Today, I’m just a girl who was kissed by the most handsome man in the land.
Sometimes, avoiding reality seems like an easy fix until you fuck up what has become the most important relationship of your life.
“Shut up, shut up!” She screams at me. “You’re such a fucking kill joy. You just hate me.” I can’t believe I have to say this but— “I don’t hate you. You’re my sister. I love—” “You’re just a bitter, heinous bitch who hates everything and wouldn’t do fucking shit for me if I were on the ground bleeding,” she says.
My heart thunders inside my chest. She really meant it—all of it. She wants me. She loves me. We could have everything, and that would make her happy.
This woman awakes my body, my soul, and my heart beats again when she’s around. After that kiss, my body is still buzzing. I feel alive. For the first time in a long time, I want to live in the moment. I’m still savoring the taste of her lips.
The paper doesn’t matter. I am already spending my life with my best friend and my forever love.
