The men of Siebein’s and Oberndorff’s commands also occupied themselves with organizational matters in September. Reinforced by the 1st Reserve and Vogler’s company of the 2nd Reserve on the first of the month, Oberndorff was able to extend his positions to the west as far as Steingaden and shift his forces to more satisfactory locations.
