you should aim to maintain an open-minded perspective around the source of your suffering, and set the intention to better understand the cause of your pain. If your intention is unclear or you are feeling particularly ungrounded, it may be best to postpone.

Pushing back your trip until you feel ready will be unlikely to backfire on you. But rushing into a trip when your head isn’t in the right place might not turn out to be the experience you’re looking for.

Consider that there are two aspects to suffering: the feeling of pain or discomfort, and then the despair we feel when we realize we are suffering. Accepting the feeling of suffering, without then despairing about its presence, is a useful skill to learn – and will help you when anxiety surfaces during a trip.   No matter what, we guarantee that the feeling of anxiety will pass, and you will be alright.

In the days following your experience, eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and avoid dairy and processed sugar, if possible. Get a healthy amount of sleep and ideally, spend some time in nature. Your body may have had a shock during the experience: be good to it.   Many people report that exercise feels particularly satisfying after a psychedelic experience. It’s also common for a trip to remind you how important it is to keep your body fit and healthy – so some people find themselves exercising more, and following a more regular fitness routine, after a trip.
