A laugh rumbles up from my chest, because her enthusiasm is infectious. “Is there anything that you do not get excited over, female?” “Very little,” she admits, beaming at me. “This place is a scientist’s wet dream.” A wet…dream? I have never heard the term, but I know exactly what she refers to. “Are you wet right now, then?” I tease, unable to resist.
Her expression grows sly. “What if I keep stealing skins and writing more on them? Will you hide those for me, too?” Clever little thief. “I shall.” “What if someone asks why you’re hoarding so much leather?” “I will tell anyone that asks that I am very cold at night, rub my stump, and they will trip over themselves to apologize.” She laughs, smacking my arm lightly. “You’re terrible. I love it.” I might be, but I like her smile too much to care.
I watch her leave, frowning. Part of me knows she is right—if I am to resonate to B’shit…ah…Breedchet…Breesht…Brechett…then I should not be kissing Devi. I should not be thinking about warm brown skin and excited eyes. I should be thinking about…whatever her name is.
“I will not stop.” I sit up straight in the furs, reaching for her arm, but she pulls out of my grasp. “I want you, Devi. I want you as I have wanted nothing else in my life…other than my leg.” I give her a wry smile that she doesn’t return. “I want you in my furs, but for now, I will settle for more kissing.”
“I am undone,” I say, gasping for breath as she uses fingers and tongue to devour every bit of my seed. “You have emptied your mate of all the kits he can give you.” She snorts with amusement. “I have far more faith in my mate’s stamina than you think. There’s plenty more where that came from.”
