What happened to those young men, what terrible things had shaped them into people who were willing to kill innocent people? … Something bad has to happen, whether it’s environment or genetics or society, and I think we bear some responsibility as a nation for our foreign policy. That’s one of the scary things right now: Are the decisions being made radicalizing more people?”
