Who was Shivaji

To oppose Shivaji, some Brahmans in his kingdom performed a yajna called Kot Chandi Yajna. They conducted this yajna on behalf of Mirza Raja Jai Singh, the mighty nobleman who served the Emperor of Delhi; they wished him victory.
