I took the title of Carry On from two places – the “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters that were very popular when I was writing, and the lyric from the song “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which is used as a spell in that book. In Wayward Son, the characters were headed to America, so I thought it would be fun to turn to an extremely American song – “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas. Also, I love the word “wayward” and loved that “wayward son” described both Simon and Baz. In the next book, the characters are back in England, so I return to Queen -- Any Way the Wind Blows.

I thought so! That answered my question about the second book’s title!

Like Melly, I associate these characters with Sam, Dean, and to a certain extent, Cass. The titles have always made perfect sense for me!
