We stared at each other. His face was so beautiful. I wanted to memorize that face. I wanted to live. I wanted to go back in time and not get on this fucking plane. “This sucks so bad,” I spoke as everything faded to black.
“Atonement?”
“What do you want?” I swallowed, now unsure about everything. The old me would have said goodnight and gone to my room like the good girl I was. The new I-just-survived-a-plane-crash me blurted out, “I want my orgasm.”
“You have no idea how much I want to fuck you.” “I want that too.” And then I ruined it by yawning.
His blues dropped to my mouth. “Fuck I’m going to regret this.” “Regret what?” His hand slid around my neck and then he tugged me closer. My breath was a staccato in my ribcage as he dropped his head down towards mine. And then his mouth moved over mine, stealing my breath. He tasted like gin and warm male. His playful kiss coaxed me until my mouth opened beneath his. I moaned, and he groaned in response. I felt him tug me closer as he deepened the kiss. It languorously combined wicked sensation and shameless desire.
We didn’t have a future. He was a player, and I was the GM’s daughter and there was no possibility of pursuing anything between us. But my stupid heart didn’t care.
The reporter shouted, “You owe the public answers. I can make Rory give me the answers I need. She’s a nice tight piece of ass and I think she’d love to suck me off.” Max turned around and shoved him hard. You could hear him say, “Touch her and I’ll kill you.”
I patted my hair into place and then took a deep bolstering breath. I could do this. I opened the door and paused. Leaning against the wall, across from the door, was Max.
“She’s sleeping with a married man. Hot and heavy. Her marriage broke up over it.” My heart zinged with joy over the fact she was not sleeping with Max. “Who?” “Baxter.”
The photographer was bent over his camera. “Try to imagine that I’m the chick you need to fuck. Not want, but need. This chick is the one that got away. You burn for her. You long for her. And when you see her, all you want to do is grab her and have your dirty way with her.” Max stared at me. I stared back. “Be sexy for her, Max,” the photographer was taking photo after photo. “Tell her how you feel about her with your eyes. Try to let her know how much you want her.” Max’s eyes never left me. I struggled to breathe. I could feel my body respond to his smoldering gaze. I was on the receiving

“Yes. I’m his boss and we will not be sleeping together.” The photographer snorted. “Says you.”
“I said, I’ll read three chapters if you give me a kiss.” “What about your… girlfriend?” His blue eyes widened. “Who said I had a girlfriend?” I ducked my head down. “It was something I heard.” “Then you heard wrong.” My heart soared through my chest. “Because you don’t do distractions.” “I’m looking at my only distraction. So, do we have a deal?”
“Drop your robe,” he growled. “Why?” I whispered over the furious pounding of my heart. “Because I’m going to give you something to remember when he tries to make you come.”
“God, you’re so fucking beautiful.” My body tightened in response. “Now I’m going to show you what it means to get properly fucked.”
“Spread your legs for me.” It took two breaths before I had the guts to move my legs apart. “That’s it,” his lips were on my back, trailing kisses across my shoulder. I arched, quivering when I felt his teeth graze the skin of my shoulder. “Tonight, I’m going to control every inch of you.” He sucked my earlobe into his mouth. “After tonight, no matter who you’re with, you’ll only think of me.”
“Is that all you got?” The words strangled out of my throat. “Are you sure you’re not a Baby Man?” Reckless words, considering my position, but I wanted him to lose control. I wanted him as mad with lust as I felt. I needed to bring him to the same insatiable need that was coursing through my blood. “You’re such a hot little bitch,” he breathed hard. “Shut up and fuck me like you mean it.” He responded by ramming me with intensity. My body responded by clenching around him. We were raw. Relentless. Exquisitely primal. I fought my orgasm. Tried to slow it down, but it was like trying to stop a

He was built to fuck.
Max cleared his throat, breaking his silence. “It wasn’t supposed to be like that.” “What wasn’t supposed to be like that?” “Our first time.” My heart flipped. “What was it supposed to be like?” He paused so long, I wasn’t sure he would answer. “I wanted to savor you.”
“What did I say? Tell me so the next time I fuck up, I can say it again.” My laugh was breathless. “You said all the right things.” “You’re not going to enlighten me?”
Max is sooooo freaking sweet!! Usually a guy would even care what he said to make it better, he would just be thankful the woman isn’t made anymore so they can move on. Max…. He truly cares about Aurora 🥰
“I’ve never done this before.” “Done what?” He stared at me for a moment. “I brought you dinner.” “What?” “It’s a picnic.” He dug into the box. “Here is the wine.” He pulled out a bottle of white. “You brought me a picnic?” “Yes.” That day on the plane, I had told Max that the Baby Men brought me picnics. And he had scoffed. Now he was here, looking slightly unsure of himself. “I thought you didn’t do this kind of stuff?” “I don’t.” Which made this even more meaningful.

“You going to come to my next game and cheer for me?” I laughed. “I’m at every game.” “But are you going to cheer for me?” I lifted my hand to his cheek. “I always cheer for you.”
“I can’t even express how I feel about Max. But there’s something you should know. My father would not approve.” “You’re worried about his career.” “Hockey is his life.” He smiled, his blue eyes crinkling. “That’s where you are wrong. Hockey is his job and there are far more important things in this world than our jobs.” My eyes blurred with emotions. “I don’t want him to have to choose.” He patted my hand. “Let Max make that decision. The only thing you need to decide is how you really feel about him.” “Is it that easy?” “It is if you let it be.”
“They need to realize how much they need you. Let them sweat out there.” “Why does that matter so much to you?” I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. This was my moment. To be real with him. To be honest. “Because if we get found out, I don’t want your career to be over.” His head reared back like I had slapped him. I dropped one more bomb. “I don’t know what you want but I want whatever this is, to continue. And I don’t want you to have to choose between hockey and me.”
“You know how I feel, right?” I winced. “Not really.” He stroked my hair back from my forehead. “If you were a sport, you’d be hockey.” But you love hockey!
“What do you want? Tell me?” “You,” my head tossed back and forth. “Only you.” He pinned my hands above my head as he pushed inside me, his blue eyes on my face. I worked to focus my eyes on his face. His expression made my heart want to burst. His expression was a mixture of tenderness and lust, heat and emotion. “Max,” I couldn’t tear my eyes off his face. I wanted to stay in this moment forever. Commit it to memory.
He shifted his hips and his eyes never left my face when I came apart. I cried out, as my body bowed and arched beneath his, but my cry wasn’t for my physical release. It was for an emotional release I didn’t quite understand. He watched me as every cell in my body flew apart and then came back together. Only I didn’t quite come back the same person. Something had shifted. Something had cracked open in me and it felt like a million butterflies were pouring out of my chest. “You’re so fucking beautiful,” he breathed, watching me. “Please join me,” I begged, not sure what I meant.
When he came, he came with a carnal groan against my neck and as his big body thrust up into mine, I held onto him, overwhelmed by the intensity of it all. “Rory,” he lifted his head and looked into my eyes, while he remained buried inside me. “I know,” I breathed.
So much emotion rolled through me, I thought my chest would burst. It took all my effort not to blurt out the words, I love you. I sat up. I loved Max. My heart pounded in my chest. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. Max and I had only started to date. Love wasn’t supposed to happen this fast. But I loved him with my entire heart and I knew I would do anything for this man.
I realized that I’m head over heels in love with you. No biggie.
“Did you mean it?” “Mean what?” “You said you loved me. Did you mean it?” Everything rushed up over me. All the anxiety and fear over Max pushing me away. Tears blurred my eyes. “Yes. I meant it.” “Say it.” “I love you.” “My life’s a fucking mess.” “I don’t care about that.” “I may never play hockey again.” I swallowed the tears that wobbled my voice. “That would break my heart because I know how much you love the game, but it doesn’t change how I feel about you.” “I suck at this.” “At what?” “Showing you how much you mean.” “I mean something to you?” He stared past me for a moment before his

“The question, number 33, is do you give enough of a fuck to play for this team?” His face broke into the most beautiful smile. “My name’s Max.” “Okay, Logan. Do you want to play? Because we have a lot of money with your name on it, if you’re willing.” “What about the fans?” “Fuck the fans.” “And your dad?” “He’s the one who fought for you from the start.” “I think we can win.” “Only if you come back.” “Will you be my girlfriend still?” I couldn’t keep the stupid grin off my face. “Yes.” “What about Baxter?” “We’ll deal with him.” “Hell yeah.”
I do love how they brought it back to the beginning when they first saw each other on the ice. They are so freaking cute 😍😍
“I needed to know your feelings weren't based on whether or not I play.” “It never has been and it never will be.” He stood up. “Will you cheer for me?” “I always do.” He bent down and dropped a hard kiss on my lips. “Thanks.” I clutched his arm. “Have fun. I want you to love this.” “Why?” “Because when you're happy, I’m happy.” He dropped a second kiss on my lips, this time more lingering. “You will get a big reward for saying that later tonight.”
He slapped my ass again. “Say something dirty.” “You say something dirty.” “I love it when your mouth is full of my cock.” I groaned. “More.” “I love the feeling when your pussy milks my hard dick when you come.” “Yes, oh yes. Tell me more.” “I want my hot seed to plant a baby inside of you.” I froze. He froze. Something delicious twisted in my gut. “Really?” “Oh fuck,” he groaned. “You want to get me pregnant?” I panted. “Talking time is over,” he yanked my hair. “Time to get serious here.”
“I want to go off the pill.” Max stumbled and his arms tightened around me. We both stared at each other. “How was that?” His mouth covered mine. “Yes.” “You sure?” He groaned and pressed his lips to mine. “I want it all. You. A baby. Marriage. A lifelong commitment.” “Sounds pretty distracting.” “I’ve never felt more focused.”
“That plane crash was the best thing that ever happened to me.” “Me too.” “I love you, Rory.” I put my hands on the sides of Max’s face and we stared at each other for what felt like a million heart beats. “I love you, too.”
