“You know, you’re the only one around here who’s honest with me?”
“You’re the only person around here that I do trust.”
“That’s bullshit,” some player called. “I was hoping to get into it with the fans.” “Yeah me too.” “That fight was the best part of my night.” Oh geez. I fought more tears as these men, this team, stood up for me.

A big hand shot out and grabbed my wrist. Max turned to me. “Don’t leave me.” “Max.” He radiated tension. “Stay.”
The photographer paused. “I’ve been doing this for twenty years and I just took some of the sexiest photos of my life. Your sex life must be off the charts.” “Excuse me?” He shook his head. “The way he was looking at you? That was pure, mind-blowing lust.”
“Try the first book. Get through three chapters and if you hate it, you can stop reading.” “For a kiss.” “What?” I froze.
“I’m at every game.” “But are you going to cheer for me?” I lifted my hand to his cheek. “I always cheer for you.”
“Rory, you mean everything to me. I’ve spent my entire life working toward being a professional hockey player, but none of that matters if you’re not in my life.”
“Because I love you and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. And I want you to be happy.”
“Have fun. I want you to love this.” “Why?” “Because when you're happy, I’m happy.”
