All true authority is from God—authority in the home, in the church and in the state, therefore, he obeys God. So then, there can be no conflict in the exercise of authority in these realms when it is exercised according to the biblical limits prescribed for each. Problems arise when those in either one or more areas overreach their limits. At that point the transgressor of God’s boundaries no longer speaks with the authority of God, but merely as a human being.
