“And do tell . . . how would you impress a woman you’re attracted to?” I ask, fascinated. His eyes hold mine. “Offer her a window seat.”
“I just want the guy I met on the plane. The one who let himself go.” His eyes hold mine. “I don’t know how to be that guy all the time, Em. It’s a very small part of my personality.” “Then just save that small part for me,” I breathe. A soft smile crosses his face
“What was so good about that guy on the plane, anyway?” “He made me laugh.” I smile as I remember. “And he gave me the best sex of my life.” “Of your entire life?” “Uh-huh.” He smiles, pleased with himself.
“Good morning,” I whisper. “Good morning, my Em.” His lips dust mine. I smile goofily up at him. “What?” “I like it when you call me that.” “You do?” He smiles.
My scarf. He kept it.
“You must have done something stupid in your life, Jameson Miles.” He smiles softly over at me in the darkness. “Yeah. I have.” “What?” I smirk. He reaches over and cups my face in his hand, and his thumb dusts over my bottom lip. “I never asked for your number.”
“I’ve missed my girl,” he murmurs against my lips.
He leans in and kisses me softly; his big blue eyes hold mine. “I don’t do things in halves, Emily.” “Meaning?” I whisper. “Meaning that my woman is my world.”
“I work hard . . . but I love harder.”
“I’m in love with you, Emily Foster.” He leans in and kisses me slowly. His tongue swipes through my open lips with such emotion that I get a lump in my throat. “I can’t help it. I tried to stop it, and I couldn’t. I think I’ve loved you since our first night together in Boston. You stayed with me. I fought it, and still, I couldn’t forget you. I’ve been carrying your scarf around like a lovesick fool for more than a year.”
He appears around the door and gives me a slow, sexy smile as his eyes drop down the length of my body. “Jesus, you look beautiful.”
This is it. I can stop searching. I’ve found her.
“And that could be fifty times a day. I’ll be waiting for your call like a lovesick schoolboy.”
“I could be anything, Emily Foster . . . as long as I’m with you.”
