I’m the kind of person who would rather get my hopes up really high and watch them get dashed to pieces than wisely keep my expectations at bay and hope they are exceeded. This quality has made me a needy and theatrical friend, but has given me a spectacularly dramatic emotional life.
Nope. Not me. I keep my expectations reasonably low, but not low enough to except garbage. Keep your expectations low, and you will almost always be pleased with the results. It’s usually worked out in my favor. In circumstances I can control and have other options. When relying on other people? Eh, it’s a toss-up.
