These they would hand out for free to drivers, pre-programmed to run UberCab’s software. The AT&T deal brought Luddite drivers onto the network as quickly as possible. Tens of thousands of dollars in iPhones lined the walls of UberCab’s offices, stacked like white bricks. They piled atop one another faster than staff could give them away.
