Because inside the Boundless Wonder—or Warpfinate, as Mialo so often demands it be called—there are one of three troublesome outcomes for those who are intelligent enough to gain access to its greatest depths. First, you either die from depravation caused by entrapment. The Warpfinate’s shadowy depths are replaced by menacing black walls that mimic shadows, barring your progression deeper into the structure. This scenario tends to stem from a lack of knowledge on a topic of rational thinking—a question and answer based on facts. It’s a miserable way to die, but there are ways to combat it. Mialo believes the information needed to break down those walls would be hidden somewhere you’ve already explored. Alas, that’s hard to do when riddled by starvation and thirst. Second is death by illness, caused by toxic areas of the Warpfinate that stem from unresolved personal issues of morality. If there is something from your past that stirs emotions of shame or guilt in your conscious, these toxic wastes will be something to fear. And it takes more than simply facing your demons and admitting that you were in the wrong. It requires a meticulous psychological self-examination. Unless you can truly comprehend the reason for your actions and prove that it was, at its core, done without malicious intent, your body will degrade from an excruciating disease.
