The way Tonitrua told her story perturbed him to no end. While he had learned a lot of intriguing information about certain Originators and their essences, she had yet to mention the mystery of Earth once. Also, she didn’t speak much on this thing she was chasing. The closest she had gotten to this topic was her mentioning of a structure with no boundaries on an island at the center of the sea, but that had felt like a teaser for a bigger revelation. Perhaps she’d speak more on it later. The obvious possibility for what she had described was the Warpfinate. And if that was the case, he would have been livid with himself. He’d spent years at Phesaw, several days a week in that very building, but his own fears had stopped him from venturing too far into its depths. His scope of knowledge was vast enough to have let him explore more, but he’d been scared he might not escape one day. At certain depths, there were things in that place.

The warpfinate would be cool but something else would be cooler.
