In 1936, more than a decade after he founded the RSS, the doctor said at a speech in Nagpur, that Hindus must understand that, ahimsa (non-injury) is not swa-himsa (self-injury) and that the former should not result in the latter. Further, the precept ‘ahimsä paramo dharmah’ (the highest code of morality is non-injury) is well rooted in the Hindu mind.
