productivity is getting the stuff you want to do done in as few steps as possible.
Work smarter, not harder. Be productive, not busy.
Start with you Sleep more Sleep is one of the most underrated tools we have in our armory.
Eat better
You should eat your veggies and drink more water. Your body works better if you eat less crap and eat more actual nutrients.
Low GI foods are the way to go – burn the energy and calories you consume slowly, and it keeps your blood sugar more even and keeps you fuller for longer.
In the long run, gas in the tank means consistency of approach, build up of momentum and the creation of good habits.
Remember – quickest route from A to B is what you want.
That means you look at everything you are doing, all the projects you currently have and jettison what isn't essential.
Now, let me state for the record I am not a rich man. But what I have realized is that my time is valuable.
Prioritizing tasks this way allows you to make the conscious decision to deprioritize something. If it isn't critical, urgent or important then by default, it is deprioritized.
Stop majoring in minor things.
Your time needs to be spent doing the stuff that is going to move you forward.
Major in the major things – the wins, the stuff that only you can do, the stuff with the kudos, the stuff that moves you forward.
Ignore social and email Both social and email are quintessential time thieves.
12 weeks or 3 months is the best amount of time to focus on something.
Any big goal is best chunked. For example, if your goal is losing 75 pounds. You are unlikely to do this in an afternoon.
Or even twelve weeks. But if you “chunked” it into 15-pound blocks and changed your strategy with every 15 pounds you were trying to lose you'd have a much better hit of success.
Focus on one thing You cannot focus on two things at the same time. Period.
You may be able to have two goals, or even three. But the focus is a different thing.
Low tech Pensive Pad – a notepad and a pencil. You’ll see real results.
You do need to know what your priorities ARE to meet them.
Deadlines work because they make you work.
Deadlines use natural leverage to get you over the hump and hand something in.
Use this natural push to complete something for a deadline to keep yourself on track.
