Because 10x teams perform at such a high level, leaders should be actively thinking of ways to create and maintain them. Members of 10x teams tend to have different skills and backgrounds because this gives the team variety in perspectives (see divergent thinking in Chapter 6) and the ability to assign team roles and responsibilities to people well suited for them.
