A real relationship with God means walking with him daily,
You cannot grow in prayer without some measure of effort and discomfort, self-discipline and self-denial.
“Is it not quicker and easier,” he asks, “just to do our common business wholly for the love of him? . . . (For) even the smallest remembrance will always please him.”[29]
When you pray about the small things in life, you get to live with greater gratitude. If you only ever pray about big, ugly, gnarly problems that seem onerous and serious enough to warrant divine intervention, you will only very occasionally experience miracles.
Don’t focus on faith; focus on God. It’s as you spend time focusing on his greatness, remembering his kindness, and rejoicing in his faithfulness that your faith quotient will rise.
Oh, will you pray? Stop now and pray, lest desire turn to feeling and feeling evaporate. AMY CARMICHAEL
It is by remembering that we start to see how present God is in our lives—at work in all things, all people, all places, and at all times.
“you need to understand that I never forget a single prayer you pray. You forget most of the things you ask me, but I never do.”
