You’re sensitive to people’s energy. Energy plays a large role in witchcraft. You may find that being in a crowded grocery store or a club can feel overwhelming because of all the different energies flying around. Beyond group energy, you may be especially receptive to the feelings and concerns of individuals. Naturally this can be overwhelming, so witches have developed a variety of methods for protecting ourselves from being derailed by rogue energy. We will cover this later in the book.

TRADITIONAL WITCHES A traditional witch follows structured paths such as Alexandrian Wicca or Gardnerian Wicca. These paths are considered religions, and they follow specific guidelines that are based on a lineage (meaning that traditions are handed down through generations of Wiccan priestesses—like a magical family tree). This type of path is ideal for those who like ceremonial magic and prefer to be guided with structure and rules.

ECLECTIC WITCHES An eclectic witch takes what works for them and leaves what doesn’t. They may love a ritual from a traditional religion while leaving behind other guidelines they don’t like. This is ideal for witches who find power in exploring everything.

NECROMANCERS A necromancer works with the dead and spirits. You’ll find that witches from this group communicate with the dead and are skilled in divination practices. Their spell work typically revolves around assistance from the spirits.
