To pick up the cross daily means to acknowledge every day that we belong to God. We have been purchased by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19). When we pick up the cross we affirm that our identity is based not in our physical existence but in our relationship with God. We are children of God (1 John 3:1-3). Our life is in Christ, because He is our life (Colossians 3:3-4).
Being a saint or a child of God doesn’t mean that you are sinless (1 John 1:8). But because your old self has been crucified and buried with Christ, you no longer have to sin
You cannot do for yourself what Christ has already done for you.
We don’t make anything true by our experiences. Rather, we are to choose to believe what God says is true, then live accordingly by faith. Then the truth works out in our experience.
Because of Christ’s victory over sin, you are free to choose not to sin. It is your responsibility to not let sin reign in your mortal body.
Can your mind be reprogrammed? That is what repentance is: a change of mind. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds. That is possible because “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16), and the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.

Fear of anything (other than the fear of God) is mutually exclusive to faith in God.
When Satan tries to incite fear, we are to maintain our position in Christ and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit, which includes self-control (Galatians 5:23).
Your identity as a child of God and your authority over spiritual powers are not things you are receiving or will receive at some time in the future; you have them right now. You are a spiritually alive child of God right now.
We have been made complete. When? At the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.
But Satan’s fangs have been removed and he has been declawed, and we have to believe that or we will be consumed.
I believe there are four qualifications for living in the authority and power of Christ: 1. Belief.
2. Humility.
Pride says, “I can do it.” Humility says, “I can do all things through [Christ], who strengthens me.” Apart from Christ, we can do nothing of lasting significance (John 15:5). We humbly exercise His authority—in His strength and in His name.
3. Boldness.
4. Dependence.
The only real sanctuary you have is your position in Christ, and in Him, you have all the protection you need.
“The chief condition for the working of evil spirits in a human being, apart from sin, is passivity, in exact opposition to the condition which God requires from His children for His working in them.”11 You can’t expect God to protect you from demonic influences if you don’t take an active part in your own defense.
Trying not to think negative thoughts doesn’t work. Rather, we are told in Philippians 4:8 to think upon that which is true, right, and honorable. We are not called to dispel the darkness; we are called to turn on the light.
The sorrow of this world and the Holy Spirit’s conviction both produce the same sorrowful feeling. However, the sorrow resulting from Satan’s accusation leads to death, while the sorrow of conviction leads to repentance and life without regret.
I choose to stay committed to my vows and to remain faithful to my spouse until physical death separates us. Give me the grace to be the spouse You created me to be, and enable me to love and respect my partner in marriage. I will seek to change only myself and accept my spouse as You have accepted me. Teach me how to speak the truth in love, to be merciful as You have been merciful to me, and to forgive as You have forgiven me. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
I announce the truth that my identity and sense of worth are found in who I am as Your child.
renounce striving for perfection by living under the law. By Your grace, heavenly Father, I choose from this day forward to walk by faith in the power of Your Holy Spirit according to what You have said is true. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

I choose to believe that I am alive in Christ and dead to sin. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I don’t carry out the desires of the flesh. Show me the way of escape when I am tempted to return to my addictive behaviors. I stand against all of Satan’s accusations, temptations, and deceptions by putting on the armor of God and standing firm in my faith. I choose to believe that You will meet all my needs according Your riches in glory. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
I renounce the lie that I am rejected, unloved, or shameful. In Christ I am accepted. You don’t get rid of negative thoughts by rebuking every one of them; you get rid of them by repenting and choosing the truth.
