Christopher Steele: A former officer with the British intelligence service MI6, Christopher Steele was hired by the private US political-intelligence firm Fusion GPS to research Donald Trump’s ties to Russia. From June to December 2016, he submitted a series of reports that came to be known collectively as the “Steele Dossier,” which alleged the Russians held compromising information about Trump and that Trump’s campaign was conspiring with a Russian government effort to win him the election.
