We should not confuse innocence(10) with ignorance(8). Innocence is open, whereas ignorance is closed. Look closely at the word “ignor-ance” to get a sense of how I am using it. To ignore is a willful(8) act, so ignorance is disharmonious(8-9). Innocence, on the other hand, is open and, therefore, harmonious(10+). Consider that innocence is defined as being blameless and as lacking the knowledge(9) of right and wrong. It’s not willful because it’s open.
