This means that the true path to enlightenment is not one of becoming a better, “more spiritual” person who has only kind and positive thoughts, but rather of unbecoming that which you’re not. At the deepest level, you’re already whole, and complete, and perfect. You’re already at one with the very essence of divinity itself. Therefore, your job is not one of becoming that which you already are, but rather of seeking out all the inner blocks that impede a direct and constant awareness of your true divine nature.
One of the primary purposes of this book is to so clarify the differences between consciousness and mind that the reader will immediately begin noticing when they are tuned to mind, which is the source of suffering, and upon so realizing, choose to tune to consciousness instead. As we continually observe the mind and choose to tune in to consciousness, liberation reveals itself.
“Find my bones, for they are the core of my teaching. Most of what is written about me is untrue. Mankind has so twisted my teachings for selfish gain that little of the essence remains.
“You can change your life. You can stop spending time with those who are selfish and negative, who don’t really care about you. You can stop drinking and smoking. You can find friends who are working for something positive, who have a purpose in life that you respect. You can go to college, even if only part-time. Make your life full of positive purpose. You are free to do what you feel is right. Do what you want to do, and be yourself.”
The soul within constantly draws to the individual the perfect opportunity for balancing through the situations, events, and relationships of life. Our attitude toward these things either binds or frees us.
Inspirience is my word for any experience of total unity; its roots are inspire and experience.
Could it be that we are unconsciously avoiding realization of Isness for fear of what will be exposed?
I awoke in deep thankfulness, knowing that this was the way to live with Isness. Freed of my fear of death and my desire to escape “the prison of the body,” I would embrace the present moment fully and with passion, because only through the present moment do we truly live.
Humanity is on the verge of an incredible enlightenment, but first the corruption of humanity must be fully exposed.
And I can see that, in our society, few are willing to give up the falsehoods to which we cling. Indeed, we may be in for a rough ride. But I no longer concern myself too much with that, as I can’t control other people’s attitudes. My main focus is fulfilling my part in the story.
I am confident that many others out there have also received important teachings and are doing all they can to fulfill their path in this epic adventure of life.
I moved to a small town in southern Oregon and began teaching a few dedicated individuals.
I firmly believe that tuning to consciousness will end violence on the planet. When individuals understand and prove in their own bodies that love is more powerful than violence, then violence has had its last breath.
The path of spiritual unfoldment is first and foremost a process of resolving to Isness by way of intentional tuning to consciousness. Through the tuning process, identifications that we hold slough away, little by little, like dead skin. We can consider these identifications to be like a dark field surrounding us. With each release of darkness, a little more light is able to shine through, allowing further insight into our true nature.
For this reason the path of unfoldment is unlike any other path in life. It’s not a building up of skills and structures but instead is a resolution or dissolution of structure. It’s not a becoming but an unbecoming. It’s not a complication but a simplification and purification process removing all that we hold onto, for what we hold binds us.
consider only the formless moment and all that is occurring within the moment.
This perspective relaxes into and enjoys being without trying to define itself. Isness observes and accepts formless nonduality, and, therefore, it’s not divided or bound in any way. Buddhism indicates it as the Eternal Buddha. The New Testament figures it as the Holy Father. Taoism indicates it as the Tao. Different cultures may employ other terms that indicate the same thing. But no matter the term, rightly understood, what we are talking about is not really a name but just an indication or hint.
Awareness of Soul begins when we embrace non-defining, unconditioned acceptance of being.
When a superior man hears of the Tao, he immediately begins to embody it. When an average man hears of the Tao, he half believes it, half doubts it. When a foolish man hears of the Tao, he laughs out loud. If he didn’t laugh, it wouldn’t be the Tao. — Tao Te Ching
We should not confuse innocence(10) with ignorance(8). Innocence is open, whereas ignorance is closed. Look closely at the word “ignor-ance” to get a sense of how I am using it. To ignore is a willful(8) act, so ignorance is disharmonious(8-9). Innocence, on the other hand, is open and, therefore, harmonious(10+). Consider that innocence is defined as being blameless and as lacking the knowledge(9) of right and wrong. It’s not willful because it’s open.
Adam and Eve ultimately ignore the warning and eat the forbidden fruit in hopes of gaining the power of God. From this allegory, we can see that the desire(8) of knowledge(9) for the sake of selfish power causes great disharmony(8-9). Then there is the concept that knowledge brings about a sense of opposing contrasts(otherness), which are represented as good and evil, judgments of the self-conscious mind(8-9). Could this be a warning that using the mind thus births disharmony?
To develop clarity about the distinction between the “noise” of the self and essential consciousness, take time to regularly perceive directly without avoiding, resisting, latching onto, interpreting, or attempting to explain anything.
The process of unfoldment is for those who are tired of deceiving themselves and who are willing to slog through seemingly endless amounts of muck in order to reach the shores of enlightenment.
If we are not being challenged, then we are probably not making much progress.
Sit comfortably on the floor or in a chair to begin, gaze straight ahead,
When we consider any noteworthy accomplishment in the world, the person or persons who achieved it were unfailingly persistent.
With each quitting experience the quitter gets stronger and stronger, and pretty soon its voice is overwhelming. “It’s boring. It takes too long. It’s too much work. It’s too troublesome. It hurts. I can’t. It’s impossible. Someone let me out of this, please.” These are some of its seductive utterances.
in the mind there must never be a finish line.
Sometimes people ask me when I will stop practicing martial arts. To me this question is like asking when I will quit breathing. There is no end as far as my intention is concerned. Just keep moving forward.
I cannot state enough how important the Warrior’s Meditation is. Remember to keep it simple and keep your eyes open. Do not allow into this process any crutches, such as the use of spiritual symbols, spiritual items, or anything else; keep it pure. We are already born with all we need to unfold, and the more crutches we use, the less applicable the meditation will be to our daily lives. We are now at a point in the consciousness of this planet when spirituality needs to be more than just a hobby, sideshow, or weekend activity; instead, it needs to be lived. Have faith in your unfoldment

Set a meditation regimen that you know you will actually do every day.
Many of our blockages are structural, which is to say the blockages are found in our life-patterns — habits, addictions, and varieties of codependence.
We want this process to become a part of our daily life so that meditation and life are one and the same. There simply is no substitute for daily meditation in this regard.
But All That Is includes and transcends gender. Through the practice of prayer, begin resolving the limitations of language and culture, so that consciousness can flow through unimpeded in every moment of life.
If we practice accepting attitudes in our lives we will find that a lot of “distractions” lose power over us.
practice the 10 percent rule that we use during meditation. The rule goes this way: Never use more than 10 percent of your focus on any particular thing; instead, keep awareness spread out evenly.
Toss out all expectation, and be open to all possibilities at all times. This is true inspirience in the moment.
Through teaching I have clearly seen that each person not only has the core of Isness within, but they are able to access and express it to an astonishing degree in a very short period of time.
When I say “you,” I am not referring to your personality or to the self, but instead to the unconditioned, eternal, undefined you. This actual you never changes, never ages, and does not suffer.
Everything that the mind thinks of as you causes suffering, and the longer you remain stuck in identification, the longer you suffer.
Mind is like a woodpecker on a concrete pole. It will continue bouncing its brain around until it tires of pecking. Forgive it, and revisit unconditioned awareness as often as possible.
We also want to look into the feeling of anger in the body with curiosity, treating it as a completely new experience to explore. When we do this, we may come to see that it’s not really our true being becoming angry, although we may have believed this story for a long time.
We didn’t get to our current condition overnight. Therefore reaching a greater level of clarity and self-understanding requires us to make regular investment into the process.
Regarding formalities, students should address a teacher by title to show respect, unless the teacher specifies otherwise. The student needs to have a deep interest in the teacher, to the point of being captivated, because everything about that teacher offers meaningful information to students. However, the student must not worship the teacher, nor must the student be blind to the teacher’s shortcomings. Instead, the student observes and learns, conscientiously seeking to discern what is of value as well as what is not, while showing deep respect.
Students who fail to show respect, who repeatedly arrive late, or who cannot keep to a training schedule might want to consider looking into their own motivations because they are, in all likelihood, wasting everyone’s time and energy.
“I have come to understand that I can’t improve if I blame other people. I try to remember that whatever happens could be a reflection of the energy that I am projecting.”
I find it fascinating to see what happens to the mind when we are tuned to a high frequency of harmony. During this time, we will wonder why we get upset when our spouse does this or says that. A frequency of consciousness enables us to see how petty we are about many things when we are tuned to mind. Believe it or not, we can attain such a high frequency of consciousness that there can be no abuse. But we may not be tuned to this high frequency all the time, so there can be vulnerability.
We should realize that any frequency of mind lies open to abuse, so even “good” people become susceptible to error if they put them...
