“So it’s settled. She’s moving in with me, and you all can come see her when you want to,” Arion says like he’s declaring it the new law.
“I’m struggling to see how that’s the next thing out of your mouth. Did I miss another conversation you only had in your head?” I ask him.

Unsure how to be right now, since this feels sort of awkward, I think I curtsy. Pretty sure that’s why his eyebrows bounce up. Life would be easier if I knew how to be cool.
“You wear a lot of red,” the one in the middle randomly interjects as she absently stares at her nails. “Our mother always said only whores wear red.” “Your mother also killed you so she didn’t have to be a mother, so I think she’s the worst person to take advice from,” I reasonably point out.
“Says the Van Helsing to the stupid Frankenstein’s monster, as she stares down the creepy stairs to the basement that looks to dead-end at a stone wall with fucking chains on it,” I deadpan. “I’ll pass.”
“How do I get from here to there?” Arion asks more seriously, pointing at where he’s standing to where Vance is comfortably lounging between her legs.
“Vance can’t talk right now. He’s in the middle of crashing a completely fried plane. This won’t happen on Air Arion when I’m your captain,” the psychotic vampire says with a careless tone.
“I was thinking they were monsters and I’m a monster, and Anna suggested we put our monster parts together.”
We all need sensitivity training, because we watch without an ounce of shame, as he truly struggles to put himself in what is possibly one of the smallest cars ever. The other three would struggle some too. When Emit’s head pops through the opening sunroof, Vance scrubs a hand over his face. “This is why you have rebellions,” Arion says with a restrained smile. “You can’t be taken seriously.”
“Anyone else a little creeped out about watching her play with a doll her mother gave her?” Emit notes. “So long as she’s over twenty, it’s just wrong enough for me,” Damien answers
